From Thursday 15th November you can place your secret auction bid on this beautiful dolls’ house, hand-made in Inverkeithing by local resident and retired teacher at Inverkeithing High School, Sandy Stephen. You can come into Maker and write your bid down on a slip, along with contact details, which will be put in an envelope and kept secret until Saturday 15th December, when the highest bidder will be announced. Alternatively, if you can’t make it in to the gallery, email us at info@inverkeithingarts.org and we’ll do it for you. We’re asking for bids over £100, to reflect the incredible amount of work and dedication it takes to make a one of a kind dolls’ house of this quality and beauty, not to mention the materials costs. Sandy is donating ALL of the proceeds to Inverkeithing Arts @ Maker, which will go into a ring-fenced fund for children’s art classes and other accessible arts activities. What a star!
The announcement of the highest bidder, (the house’s new owner), will be made on Saturday 15th December at 2pm. We invite all bidders along, and we’ll be partying it up with some festive sips and nibbles! If you make a bid and can’t make it – and you win – don’t worry, we’ll get in touch with you ASAP.
Good luck!
Jane and Mary (and Sandy)
