Children’s Storytelling – Stories, Sangs and Rhymes

CHATTERBOX STORIES will be at the INVERKEITHING FESTIVE MAKERS MARKET on Saturday 12th December 1PM-4PM.  Children of all ages are invited to drop in, absolutely FREE (thanks to Fife Council), and experience the magic of the season with ‘Winter Tales’ by joining in and listening to stories, sangs and rhymes. You’ll find them in the Cafe of Inverkeithing Civic Centre, where there will also be children’s crafting activities related to the stories.

We’ll be hearing about Santa and Rudolf, Jack Frost and The Happy Prince, The Three Bears and Auld Ted, and many many more. It’s sure to be a fun and magical afternoon!

Storytelling is a wonderful way for a community to come together, and we invite all of the children of Inverkeithing and surrounding towns, as well as all our young visitors to the Makers Market from far and wide, to come along, listen, and join in with Kate and Rowan.

We are collaborating with Spittalfield Residents and Tenants Association to make sure the word gets out about it, and The Scottish Book Trust are generously giving us lots of lovely children’s books to give away to wee visitors! Parents and carers can also find out about children joining the library and all of the events and activities which go on in public libraries across Fife and Scotland.

Craig Gilbert, Novelist and Poet

Inverkeithing Arts Initiative are branching out with the forthcoming Festive Makers Market on 12th December as local fantasy author and poet Craig Gilbert is joining us, showcasing his books of poetry, fantasy novels and poetry prints. His wife Caren Gilbert is also going to be selling her book of poetry. Come along for a chat with Craig and get copies of his books signed. We heard both Craig and Caren reading their work at one of Fife Writes free literary events in the village of Aberdour during the summer of 2015, and we’re delighted to be welcoming them to Inverkeithing Civic Centre on 12th December.
