Into the ART:JAM – Ann’s Doodles

From now until the ART:JAM Art & Craft Market on Saturday 12th September we will be highlighting in turn each of the creative makers who will be exhibiting and selling their work at the event.

Ann’s Doodles

“Once upon a time there was a girl named Ann who loved to doodle. She doodled all the time, for as along as life would allow and she still does. Not so long ago Ann decided to share her doodles, and than was when the magic started.”

This quote, taken from Ann’s introduction to her website, captures exactly the sense of entering a different fantastical world which her work inspires.

Ann’s work will be available to purchase at the ART:JAM as originals, prints, cards and colouring sheets.

On her website Ann also talks about what value her ‘doodling’ holds for her “The inspiration for the subjects I doodle are all based on my life, my dreams, along with my endless imagination. I am lucky enough to have people around me with the patience to allow me to sit for hours at my drawing desk lost in my own little world….however my biggest inspiration has always been silence. Surrounded by quietness my mind does its best work.”

Creative Colouring

The currently ‘hot’ hobby of mindful colouring-in is suitable for children and grown-ups, and the results are lovely and highly individual.

At the ART:JAM Art & Craft Market Ann will be providing colouring sheets of her beautiful intricate drawings for members of the public to have a go at colouring themselves. Ann has even offered to be on hand to give expert hints and tips. Be warned – mindful colouring is so enjoyable it becomes difficult to stop!

As part of our Bloomin’ Marvellous Inverkeithing event, we are delighted to welcome back Annsdoodles, who graced our first event in December 2014 with a table full beautiful and intricate drawings and prints. Come along to Inverkeithing Civic Centre on 2nd May 11am – 5pm to see and purchase these lovely creations.

As well as enjoying looking at the fabulous drawings on the website, be sure to read the ‘Artist’s Statement’ – it’s a beautiful and touching read, and we think ties in well with IAI’s own philosophy of everyday creativity which we hope to foster and inspire.
