Lainy Allison – colour is my passion

“I am a passionately firm believer that colour is, like music, a major player in influence in our everyday lives.”

Lainy Allison is an incredibly versatile visual artists, whose inspiration is drawn not only from the rich colours she finds around her, but also history and her own imagination. She uses techniques such as ink and photography to create meditations on memory and form, textured paint to create warm and immediate senses of place, and experimental photography to explore light and movement.

You’ll be able to view, and purchase, Lainy’s wonderful works of art at our ART:JAM on Saturday 12th September at Inverkeithing Civic Centre from 11am-4.30pm.

Lainy2

Lainy is a highly versatile artist. As she expresses it, she:

“….explores a range of materials and tools from sculpture, painting, textile design to writing. Her work and images are extracted from an array of influences, history, culture, architecture, family, light, fire, water, organic and synthetic. With gesture, drawing out, layering, material and process, revelatory of each other, the making of the art is part of the content. Her art practice does not just become an image but a creation.”

Her work is exhibited in galleries and non-profit art spaces and has numerous collectors of her work. Lainy is a co-founder of CAD (Contemporary Arts in Dunfermline).
