Open Studio & Exhibition at Maker

Mary Farrell, jeweller & maker, and Jane Francis, visual artist, will be showing, selling and talking about their work from 2nd-9th September at Maker, 2a High Street Inverkeithing. The weekend of the 2nd and 3rd are the Central Fife Open Studios, when Maker will be part of a string of venues showing the work of exciting Fife-based artists and makers. Jane and Mary are delighted to be part of this event, which will showcase the amazing talent of people in the area. From Tuesday 5th to Saturday 9th (half day on Wednesday), Maker will continue to display their work and will be open for visits from the public. The workshop/exhibition space at Maker is wonderfully light and fresh and will make a great backdrop to the work of these two artists.

Bo’ness artist Tom Bishop-de-Main’s eventful life inspires him to create his wonderfully colourful and vivid paintings. You can see Tom’s work at many exhibitions and gallery spaces throughout Scotland. He can claim to be a true renaissance man as he is also a musician, and a writer, having written children’s books, television, radio scripts and poetry.

Lainy Allison – Multi Talented Mixed Media

Mixed-media artist Lainy Allison will be joining Inverkeithing Arts Initiative for the FESTIVE MAKERS MARKET this Saturday 12th December, 11AM – 4.30PM, Queen Street, Inverkeithing, KY11 1PA.

Lainy is the final artist in our line-up of makers who will be displaying and selling their beautiful work this Saturday in Inverkeithing, a fitting end to the list as both she and her work are so lovely! Lainy is proficient in a wide range of mixed media techniques and her work is much sought after and loved by admiring collectors. Her work and images are extracted from an array of influences, history, culture, architecture, family and nature.

Tom Bishop-de-Main – Man of Many Colours

“Tom Bishop-de-Main, born in the East End of London two years before the end of the war. Working from the tender age of 7 on a horse drawn bread cart. Tom has seen a colourful life from market worker, fairground attendant, rag and bone man to the Merchant Navy.” (from Tom’s website)

Painter Tom Bishop-de-Main’s eventful life inspires him to create these wonderfully colourful and vivid paintings. He can claim to be a true renaissance man as he is also a musician and writer, having written children’s books, television, radio scripts and poetry. Tom’s work is regularly exhibited and sold at the Glen Gates outdoor art market in Dunfermline.

We are looking forward to welcoming and getting festive with Tom at the INVERKEITHING FESTIVE MAKERS MARKET, 11AM – 4.30PM, Inverkeithing Civic Centre, Queen Street, KY11 1PA.
