Letter from Jeanne Dron:

I wanted to bring you up to speed on current thoughts about the situation with classes and workshops.

This break in class and group activities has been much longer than any of us imagined at first, and although recently it seemed that with health and social distancing in place we could soon be returning, the situation is worsening once again.

At Maker the space has been reorganised, furniture is being removed and a plan is in development to safely accommodate 3 socially distanced participants at a time, for classes and Drop-in Drawing sessions (which would be 2-hour slots).

However, after the last three weeks, waiting to see if the Coronavirus containment would continue, it has become clear that the virus is spreading once again; and we are reminded how very serious this illness is.

Many of us have age and health issues, relatives and dependents to consider; so, reluctantly, I have decided that it is necessary to put safety considerations first and wait until early spring to start up again. Hopefully, by then the Covid-19 safety issues will have improved significantly.

Please take care and look after yourselves,

Jeanne

DROP-IN DRAWING

Please note Drop in Drawing has been suspended due to Covid19 restrictions. We will hopefully be able to restart the drop in drawing sessions when restrictions are lifted.

OPEN DRAWING – UNTUTORED: This is a drop-in drawing session from 10am-2pm. Some materials and equipment supplied but feel free to bring anything you’d like to use. The sessions are led by Jeanne Dron, who is there to offer advice if required and support as you follow your own practice. If you used to draw and have been thinking about taking it up again, or if you want to put aside some time each week for some drawing practice, or even if you are a complete beginner and its something you’d like to give a go in a non-judgemental and supportive atmosphere – come along to Maker on Tuesdays! The sessions are FREE although a small donation is appreciated (if you can) towards refreshments.
