Workshops at Maker

OPEN DRAWING – UNTUTORED: This is a drop-in, open, untutored drawing day from 11am-3pm. Some materials and equipment supplied but feel free to bring anything you’d like to use. Draw each other, from still-life, do some free mark making, or any kind of drawing you fancy! So if you used to draw and have been thinking about taking it up again, or you want to put aside some time each week for some drawing practice, or its something you’d like to give a go amongst non-judgemental folk – come along to Maker on Tuesdays!

A new season of Drawing for Fun starts on Thursday 11th January 2018, 7-8.30pm It will run for 5 weeks and is led by IAI associate artist Rosie Gibson. Students will practice drawing based on enjoyable techniques from the book ‘Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain’. Price for a block booking is £30. Please book the first session in advance.

Wednesday 31st January 6.30pm-9pm

Jo Barrett will be running another session of her popular and lovely Japanese Bookbinding Workshop.

Learn how to create your own journal/sketchbook using simple materials. Utilising a traditional Japanese technique called ‘stab binding’ you will design and assemble the book to your own specifications. Once mastered, this is a skill you can use at home to produce bespoke journals, sketchbooks and photo albums.

Cost is £25 per person including all materials and refreshments.
